Crochet Star Cushion

DSC_0224

I just love this cute crochet star cushion – I’ve also enjoyed making various decorations for it with my new neon orange yarn from Love Crochet, such as tassels, letters, and (my personal favourite) an anchor.

I made the crochet star cushion in an afternoon so it’s a relatively quick project – and I think it would make such a lovely gift for a new baby… or anyone that appreciates handmade gifts.

Similar to the Christmas crochet wreath, this pattern is also quite repetitive as you need to make five points exactly the same.

I used a 7mm hook and standard double knit yarn, also from Love Crochet.

Note: if you want to make your crochet star cushion bigger just carry on repeating rounds with an increase in every other round.

Now you’ve made one point, you’ll need to repeat the process another four times. Do not fasten off on the final point.

Joining the points:

This can be a little tricky, but once you’ve joined all of the points you effectively create a circle, working outwards in, decreasing at regular intervals by using the stitch sc2tog.

Round 17: holding the corners of two points together use the adjoining yarn of your final point to *sc2tog, sc into the next 7 st, sc2tog, sc into the next 7 st* around, join your next point by repeating *…* until all five points are joined (80)
